Austin, Texas, December 4, 2025 – The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) has honored Rodeo Austin with the Outstanding Rodeo Committee Partner Award for 2025, recognizing the organization’s dedication to the sport of ProRodeo and elevating female rodeo athletes.
This award celebrates Rodeo Austin’s strong partnership with the WPRA and commitment to advancing rodeo athletes particularly in Barrel Racing and Breakaway Roping, which are both showcased during Rodeo Austin’s nightly ProRodeo performances in March.
“Rodeo Austin is proud to stand alongside the WPRA, the oldest women’s sports organization in the country, to showcase the top athletes in our sport competing at the highest level in Austin, TX,” said Glen Alan Phillips, CEO of Rodeo Austin. “We are humbled to be recognized for our commitment to these athletes and the growth of the sport of rodeo.”
The Outstanding Rodeo Committee Partner Award highlights rodeo committees that go above and beyond in their collaboration with the WPRA, helping strengthen the sport and expand visibility for women in rodeo.
In addition to this award, Rodeo Austin was recognized by the WPRA in the 2025 “Justin Best Footing Awards” program, which honors committees for maintaining safe and high-quality footing for barrel racing horses and other rodeo livestock. In the Texas Circuit category, Rodeo Austin placed third, further demonstrating the commitment to maintaining high level of competition, but keeping our animal and human athletes at the forefront.
This recognition follows Rodeo Austin’s 2024 honor as the inaugural recipient of the Mega Rodeo of the Year Award, a category created to celebrate rodeos that provide $25,000 or more in purse money per event.
Rodeo Austin’s largest fundraiser, the annual Fair & Rodeo, is scheduled for March 13-28, 2026. Tickets go on sale in January.
