A Fun Filled Educational Cooking Session

BBQ Austin University features 2 fun and interactive sessions including: Happy Hour and Backyard BBQ!

Happy Hour Session
Friday March 4, 2022, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM
The BBQ U Happy Hour will showcase drinks, dips, appetizers, small-plates, and tailgate items that can be cooked on your BBQ. Our world-class chefs will demonstrate how to impress your family and friends the next time you have a party and you will get to sample their creative drinks, smoked queso, and cream cheese! Guest presenters include Steven Rossler from Blue Cord BBQ and John Bates from Interstellar BBQ.

Backyard BBQ Session
Saturday March 5, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Whether you’re a beginner cook or just interested in learning more about BBQ, come learn tips about preparing the best BBQ possible, while having fun! This class will teach you about meat choice, preparation, timing, safety, rubs, seasoning, mastering the perfect steak, BBQ and cocktail pairings, wood, pellets, smoke, pit design, and maintenance. The guest presenters for this class include the following: Scott Grumbles from Buckhead Meats, Ryan Hegar with Adams Seasonings.John Zamora with Tito’s is going to bring his expertise in pairing cocktails with your favorite bbq entree. Kasey Studdard, Longhorn great and owner of Whitfield’s BBQ in Austin will bring his BBQ expertise in perfecting your backyard BBQ party. And finally, Mark Lambert with Sweet Swine o’ Mine Grill and Smoker Superstore will talk about pit selection. You can select from two specialized versions of this class – either chicken or ribs.

What’s included: All BBQ University tickets include admission to the specified class, one-day admission to BBQ Austin, and one-day parking. The above will only be valid on the date and time that corresponds to the class you have purchased a ticket for.
