2021 Update from Rodeo Austin

2021 Update from Rodeo Austin
Lindsay Leyden

For over 80 years, Rodeo Austin’s mission has focused on growing the next generation of Texas kids.  That mission remains the top priority of the organization today.  In a season of great uncertainty, Rodeo Austin continues to keep Texas youth at the forefront of everything we do.

Since the early 1980’s, the Travis County Expo Center and the Ludecke Arena have been home to Rodeo Austin and our events each March.  Currently, the Ludecke Arena and other portions of the Expo Center are being utilized for the distribution of essential items in support of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Because of these circumstances, Rodeo Austin will only be permitted to host private youth competitions in March. This will include the Junior Livestock Show, Ag Mechanics Competition, Ultimate Scramble Championship and the Youth Auction.

We are heartbroken to cancel the ProRodeo, Carnival, Fair and BBQ Austin events scheduled for this March, but the health and safety of our community is our greatest concern.  Rodeo Austin is working closely with Public Officials to determine which events can be rescheduled for alternative dates in 2021.

We believe it takes grit to grow the next generation. We are Rodeo Austin, a not-for-profit that provides real experiences and gritty fun to raise millions for Texas kids. Since 1938, we’ve been a mission with a rodeo that has brought heritage and entertainment to our community. Rodeo Austin is a year-round non-profit funded by a month-long real western experience held every March. Rodeo-goers get to do things they can do nowhere else including a ProRodeo, one-of-a kind concerts, carnival and a livestock show.  All while raising millions for Texas kids.  Rodeo Austin looks forward to seeing you at our events in the future!

Rodeo Austin is a 501 (c)3 non-profit that raises millions for Texas kids through its annual events, with the largest being the Fair & Rodeo in March.
