Committee Descriptions
100X Club: Coordinates the general operation and staffing of the 100X Club.
Ambassadors: Promotes Rodeo Austin in an effort to increase awareness in the community. Attends promotional events and assists with VIP Tours during the two-week Fair and Rodeo.
Animal Care & Welfare: Promotes animal welfare during the Rodeo and Livestock Show. Governs the animal welfare rules and regulations, including all aspects of the care, treatment, travel and competition of animals.
Backstage: Responsible for fulfilling artist riders on a daily basis, providing them with a hospitable and protective environment. (Backstage members must be approved before joining the committee.)
BBQ Cook-off: Organizes and promotes the BBQ Cook-off, where teams compete for prizes. Responsible for securing judges and contestants, as well as event set-up and break-down.
Bullet Proof Blowout Party: Plans, promotes and seeks sponsors for the annual event held during the first and last weekend of the Show.
Calf Scramble: Plans, organizes, obtains contributors and conducts Calf Scramble events during the Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Chuck Wagon Cook-off: Organizes and implements the Chuck Wagon Cook-off. Recruits sponsors and wagons for the Chuck Wagon Cook-off.
Competitive Events: Organizes and administers all aspects of the Livestock Show, including open, junior and horse divisions.
Cowboy Breakfast: Organizes event with free food and entertainment for the public held one week prior to Rodeo in order to kick off the annual Rodeo. Members are responsible for coordinating the event and securing local business partners to participate and donate services.
Event Staff: Serve as Arena Ushers during Rodeo performances and concerts in the Main Arena.
Exhibits: Set up and coordinate activities for the Kidstown exhibit and acts as a liaison between Fairgrounds acts and Commercial Exhibits staff.
Founders Club: Coordinates the general operation and staffing of the Founder’s Club located inside the Main Arena.
Gala: Plans the annual black tie Gala including catering, decorations and silent auction.
Golf Tournament: Lines up sponsors and organizes the logistics of the tournament including obtaining entries, sponsors, setting up and cleaning up after the event.
Information & Souvenir: Coordinates operation and sales of Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo/Rodeo Austin souvenirs during the Fair and Rodeo, as well as various events during the year. Also runs the information booth on the Fairgrounds, providing assistance and information to fairgoers.
Miss Rodeo Austin: Coordinates and organizes Miss Rodeo Austin contest for girls between the ages of 15-23 who reside within Texas.
Operations: Responsible for providing a clean, safe and festive atmosphere on the Fairgrounds. Logistical layout and decoration are primary functions.
Rodeo: Responsible for the set up of the Rodeo Arena, working with the stock contractor and maintaining the rodeo arena throughout the 15 day event. Coordinates Mutton Bustin' and related events.
Rodeo Rumble: Organizes the logistics and trophies for the 1K kids’ fun run.
School Tours: Plans, promotes and conducts organized school tours during the Fair and Rodeo for children in the Central Texas region.
Shoot Out - Sporting Clay Tournament: Lines up sponsors and organizes the logistics of the tournament including obtaining entries, setting up and cleaning after the event.
Ticket Sales: Responsible for advanced ticket sales, season ticket sales and group ticket sales to members, public, large parties and corporate/business events.
Youth Auction: Coordinates all aspects of the Youth Auction including recruiting new buyers and encouraging previous buyers to attend. Also handles coordination of the physical arrangements of the auction.
